About the workshop: This three-hours long experiential workshop will present and demonstrate ‘internal psychodrama’, a one-to-one psychodrama technique developed by Brazilian psychodramatists, but little known outside of Brazil, and its adaptation to the current challenges of working with clients online through a computer screen. ‘Internal psychodrama’ works with internal and symbolic dramatization, with the client visualising and experiencing the action, but without physically executing it. Instead, the dramatic interaction with characters happens internally/mentally. It has been developed and furthered by psychodramatists such as Bustos, Dias, Godoy and Fonseca. The session will be experiential, with demonstrations of the technique, allowing participants to consider how to incorporate it into their own practice. We will also look at a wider theoretical framework for individual psychodrama work, and more specifically the theoretical underpinnings of ‘internal psychodrama’.
