Peter Pitzele has a Ph.D. from Harvard University in Literature; he taught at Harvard and Brooklyn College. In l978 he became a student of Zerka Moreno, was certified in Psychodrama in 1979, became a TEP and Director of Training at the Moren Institute until it closed in 1982. He became the Director of Psychodrama Services at Four Winds Hospital in New York from 1983-1996. During that time he and his wife Susan developed Bibliodrama, the application of role-playing and improvisational theater to biblical texts. In addition to traveling widely in the United States and abroad to share this method, Peter taught at the Union Theological Seminary in New York, the Jewish Theological Seminary, at the Academy for Jewish Religion, and in the Doctor of Ministry program at Hebrew Union College. In 1989 Peter and Susan traveled to Germany and in the following years co-founded the European form of Bibliodrama named Bibliolog (see www.bibliolog, com) which has trained more than 12,000 pastors and educators in the method from all over the world. Peter's two books about the method---Our Fathers' Wells, a Personal Encounter with the Myths of Genesis, and Scripture Windows, Towards a Practice of Bibliodrama are available from Amazon and have been translated into German, Russian, Finnish, Hebrew, and Korean. He and Susan currently offer individual training to selected students, and they are now available for training and consultation via www.teledrama.org. Susan Pitzele has a Masters in Counseling and has been part of the development and creativity of Bibliodrama every step of the way. For more about their work see www.bibliodrama.com
