Description of the Workshop:
Healing starts with naming and having a context and language for one’s own experience. Covert Emotional incest is a hidden, emotionally damaging, and confusing family dynamic that sets up the child to be the confidant and substitute spouse to one or both parents. It is critical for mental health and allied professionals to be aware of, understand, and assess for this type of boundary violation for effective and accurate treatment planning.
This workshop will utilize sociometry, didactic education, and family sculpting to safely open the door for clients to name their experience in a way that fosters empowerment, clarity, hope, and recovery.

Objectives:
1. Define Covert Emotional Incest.
2. Apply at least one action structure for concretizing this dynamic.
3. Identify and explain at least 3 negative developmental effects of CEI.
