Many of us are feeling called to ways of being and relating that are informed by biomimicry and wisdom from the more-than-human world. We are hungry for deeper and more resilient forms of equilibrium, for bonds that endure and are strengthened by the complex work of justice. We feel ready to own the fundamental relationality of our existence as we practice holding views and stances in more dedicated, humble, and gracious ways.
When have you felt connected and free, claimed and fully welcomed, effective, and responsive in the work of social change?
What might a skills focus approach to anti-oppression and liberation look like for you?
Are you drawn to explore how a challenge around a social oppression, an -ism*, could turn redemptive, restorative, and transformational?
Leticia Nieto and Candace Tkachuck will offer a 10-session deep-dive into the Beyond Inclusion, Beyond Empowerment model. In each session, they will explore one of the 10 skills in the model. Five sessions will focus on the journey to anti-oppressive consciousness and action for aspects of social privilege and five sessions will journey to liberated reclamation and joy for aspects of social marginalization.
Familiarity with the book, Beyond Inclusion, Beyond Empowerment will be very helpful as we plan to spend most of the time in action explorations.
