Directing psychodrama online has become an important part of the work of many professionals in the field. Even with the re-opening of physical offices, many continue also working online, realizing the many opportunities for reaching a larger pool of clients and trainees, and being free of restrictions imposed by travel, time, physical conditions and additional financial obligations.
Perhaps sometimes we ask ourselves how online psychodrama can become more 'real'; how to include more action, and how to keep the attention of the participants in order for them to be more present and engaged.
This workshop will demonstrate ways in which the director may create a realistic virtual stage, keeping everyone present, engaged and safe. Staging virtual scenes on the screen; utilizing participant’s own space and various motion ambiances; creating scene settings using virtual props to connect and collaborate in a cohesive virtual meeting space, will be explored in action.
Participants will be able to experience online the three phases of Psychodrama - warm-up, action and sharing; the implementation of various psychodrama techniques; and participate in various roles of their choice - protagonist, auxiliary or audience.
The group will be international, bringing the richness of various cultures and experiences. Considerations for the need of confidentiality, safety and respect will be in place. The module is unique to those who attend and WILL NOT BE RECORDED.
Participants will need to participate from a quiet and safe place with no other people present in their near-by physical space; having sufficient indirect lighting on their faces so they can be seen. All cameras need to be 'on' during the entire session. All participants are expected to arrive 5 min early and to stay throughout the entire session, including the closure.
