Every psychodrama begins with a scene. Before a protagonist can step into action, they are invited to recreate the situation they wish to explore in the here and now. Through scene setting, a story becomes an experience. A memory, relationship, conflict, dream, or future possibility begins to take shape on the psychodrama stage.In this experiential workshop, participants will explore the art and practice of scene setting.

We will examine how directors help protagonists identify where the scene takes place, who is present, what is happening, and the details that make the situation meaningful and alive. Participants will learn practical questions and techniques that support the creation of clear, rich, and engaging scenes.

Mastering scene setting is one of the most important foundations of effective psychodrama directing. A well-developed scene not only prepares the way for action but often reveals important information, deepens understanding, and strengthens the protagonist's connection to the experience being explored.Suitable for beginners as well as experienced practitioners seeking to strengthen their psychodrama skills.
