Beyond Goodbye: Exploring the End of Life and the Rest of Life Through Sociodrama and Film

Description

Using selected scenes from the film Collateral Beauty as a catalyst, this experiential workshop invites participants to meet Love, Time, and Death through sociodramatic exploration, role play, role reversal, and group dialogue. Beginning with the end of life and moving toward the rest of life, participants will explore how our awareness of mortality shapes meaning, relationships, unfinished conversations, gratitude, and legacy. This workshop examines how facing the end of life can help us live more fully, love more deeply, and choose more intentionally.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

1. Explore personal and collective perspectives on the end of life and the rest of life through sociodramatic action methods.
2. Experience the symbolic roles of Love, Time, and Death to deepen awareness of mortality, meaning, and legacy.
3. Apply sociodramatic role play and role reversal to facilitate meaningful conversations about end-of-life issues and purposeful living.
4. Identify ways that reflecting on mortality can foster greater connection, resilience, gratitude, and intentional living.
