Wherever you look, the signs of chaos reign—the rise of the populist right and their dictators, global warming, wars without end, pandemics, AI, nuclear catastrophe, and ecocide, to name but a few.To make it worse, the pillars of post–World War II society are being ripped up: international treaties, global trade, and democratic rights. Governments seem unable to rectify the vast inequalities that ensue, leading to the scapegoating of minorities, typified by the debates about so-called “illegal” immigrants. What can we do to survive as a human race, as a functioning society, as families, and as individuals? How do we stay present, resilient, and continue to hope for peace? Where do we turn for solace? This sociodrama workshop invites participants to explore these questions together and see what emerges.
