Playback Theatre (est. 1975) is an applied theatre form used across the globe in over 70 countries. Playback's three main influences are: psychodrama, the oral tradition of indigenous cultures, and the American experimental theatre movement. In PT, someone in the audience volunteers a story from their lives and a team of actors (and musician) spontaneously bring the tale to life on stage. Playback is both entertaining and curative, and exists in the space where art and healing connect. In this foundational workshop, participants will learn the basic Playback Theatre forms as well as core principles.

As the workshop will take place online, we will explore online Playback, a new and successful adaptation of the technique.
